The Foundational Competency in the Safe Use of
the KCI ActiV.A.C.® and InfoV.A.C.® Therapy
Systems with the Basic Application and Removal of a V.A.C.® GranuFoam™,
V.A.C. GranuFoam Silver® or V.A.C.® WhiteFoam
Dressing.
This nationally accredited certificate of competency
will provide a tool to validate basic nursing knowledge
and skills related to the use of the V.A.C.® Therapy
System.
Description:
This program is designed to provide basic competency to
wound care practitioners providing V.A.C.® Therapy
through the administration of the ANCC Accredited Nursing
Skills Competency Program.
Prerequisite:
Clinicians experienced in the use of V.A.C.® Therapy
in the management of patients with wounds.
By:
- employing methods of instruction that focus on specific
outcomes
- involving the learner in assessment
- providing lab based assessment of the demonstration of
specific skills
- focusing on learner accountability
