MedStar Georgetown Distinguished Achievement Award in Diabetic Limb Salvage

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is honored to present Roberto Ferraresi, MD with the 2024 MedStar Georgetown Distinguished Achievement Award in Diabetic Limb Salvage.

Roberto Ferraresi, MD resides in Milan, Italy where he is head of the Peripheral Intervention Unit and Scientific Director of the Diabetic Foot Center at the San Carlo Clinic in Paderno Dugnano. He received his medical degree at the University of Milan, Italy, and completed post-graduate Medical School at the University of Pavia in Italy.

He began his work as an interventional cardiologist about thirty years ago and subsequently dedicated himself to the endovascular treatment of chronic limb-threatening ischemia, especially in diabetic patients, performing hundreds of percutaneous revascularization procedures a year.

His research field is dedicated to peripheral artery disease, especially small artery disease, medial artery calcification, and arterialization of the venous system in no-option patients. He is the author or co-author of more than 50 publications dedicated to the treatment of ischemia of the upper and lower limbs. He is invited as a speaker in many international congresses such as VEITH, LINC, CIRSE, EWMA, and DLS.
